STILRIDE
Custom computational workflows behind the curve-folded steel geometry of STILRIDE’s electric motorcycle.

About the project
STILRIDE brings curved sheet-metal folding into electric mobility. Its distinctive steel motorcycle shows how controlled folds can create a complex three-dimensional structure from sheet material.
Through Borg Markkula, I worked with Sami Markkula and Tina Cerpnjak on custom design tools for the STILRIDE team. Our contribution was software and workflows for simulating folds and designing curve-crease geometries for robotic manufacturing. The vehicle design and product development belong to the wider STILRIDE team.
The companion STILFOLD entry follows the reusable tools and manufacturing workflow that support this approach.
