ABOUT / KANE BORG

Curiosity, by design.

ARCHITECTURE ↔ COMPUTATION ↔ MAKING

Working between disciplines.

I’m an architect, computational designer and researcher. My work connects design intent with the systems that make it possible — from interactive software and generative art to material experiments and digital fabrication.

Trained in architecture and structural engineering at the University of Malta, I co-founded FabLab Valletta and later Borg Markkula in Finland. Alongside practice, I co-lead {protocell:labs} and teach computational design and digital making at Aalto University, Metropolia and in industry.

My interests include tacit knowledge, computational design and layout optimization. I’m drawn to collaborations where designers, engineers, researchers and artists develop new tools and possibilities together.
