About the project

Developed at the University of Malta for the IASS Symposium pavilion competition, MECON explores a changing structural geometry made from six square and eight hexagonal faces. Its connections allow the structure to collapse into a cube.

The pavilion was exhibited at the Muziekgebouw in Amsterdam in 2015. The work combines geometric modelling, connection design, physical prototyping and actuation.
