Custom design & fabrication tools
Bespoke applications that connect design configuration, material benchmarks and machine-specific fabrication workflows.

About the project
I develop custom tools for teams whose design or fabrication process needs more control than a general-purpose application provides. The work connects three related capabilities: configurable geometry, repeatable material experiments and deliberate machine instructions.
Configurators turn product relationships into understandable controls. Dimensions, typology, component rules and manufacturing limits update together, so a user can explore a design space and export consistent geometry, part information or fabrication data.
Material benchmarking tools organise test geometries, process settings and measured results. A useful experiment varies what matters, records what changed and makes it possible to compare the next material, toolpath or machine setting with an earlier result. Physical measurements remain central; a preview is a way to organise the test, not a replacement for it.
Custom slicers and G-code generators give direct control over path order, layer strategy, deposition, speed and machine behaviour. These can support non-standard materials, experimental printing processes and fabrication tasks that do not fit conventional slicing assumptions.
The process begins with the product or material question. We prototype the smallest useful workflow, test it with the team and the equipment, then turn the results into a reusable application. The interactive studies on this site illustrate these ideas; project-specific tools are developed around the client’s requirements.
